If you are going to have any kind of web presence you will need a web hosting company to host your site. It doesn’t make any difference whether you are a large company doing business on the internet with shopping cars and thousands of products or just someone who wants to share their hobby with the world.
There are so many different web hosting companies out there that it can be a confusing process just trying to choose one, much less trying to find one that is affordable. Here are a few things to consider that will take some of the headache out of the process for you.
The first thing that must be determined is what type of website or websites you are going to feature. This will greatly influence your ultimate choice in web hosts. If you are only going to have a website of less than one hundred pages and you aren’t going to be hosting videos and streaming audio you will find that a standard entry level web hosting package will probably do the trick for you. You can find these packages for under $10 per month and there are numerous companies that offer this type of service.
Another option to consider as a small company is shared web hosting. Again you can get this type of service for well under $10 per month and you can always upgrade as you grow. The thing to remember is not to sacrifice quality just to save a few bucks a year. There isn’t a lot of difference in price to go with a web host that offers really good features as opposed to one that offers shoddy service.
One of the other issues that can be confusing for people is that of bandwidth. In a nutshell, this is the amount of data that your site is allowed to transfer through the web host’s servers. If you are operating a business website do not skimp on this. Many web hosts have automatic shut downs enabled if your site goes over its monthly bandwidth allotment. It isn’t as crucial if you are just running a personal or hobby type of site but if you are running a business a shut down website is the equivalent of locked doors at a brick and mortar business.
Although it is nearly impossible to determine a bandwidth amount in the beginning you can get a good idea to start with by figuring the number of web pages you have, their size in megabytes, and the number of hits you expect daily and multiply it to get an idea for the bandwidth usage you may have over a month. If you choose the right web hosting company they will let you upgrade if it looks like you are going to go over. Another key is to be sure that the company offers web stats that will allow you to check the traffic and hits that are coming to your site.

One of the most useful features offered by some web hosting companies, is the option of creating sub-domains in the same web hosting account. The problem is, most website owners are not aware of why and how to create sub-domains.
A sub-domain is a web address pointing to a sub directory within the main website directory. The website consists of files organized in directories and and sub-directories.
A directory in a website is a folder in the web hosting account. The main website files reside in a folder called the /WWW folder, and this is accessed when someone types the URL which is the domain with a http://www in the beginning This where the home page of the website and other pages, like contact us, reside.
Suppose that you start expanding your website from couple pages to tens or more, and you want to add to your website different categories of information, how would you organize the information?. For example, if your website is used for business reasons, and you have to add sales, inventory, and other department information,
This is when sub-domains come into play. They serve to organize your web pages in different directories in order to make the website maintenance mush easier. Imagine you have hundred web pages in your website placed in the /www directory, this means every time you want to edit a webpage, you have to go through the hundred web pages.
Here is the solution to this problem:
You create directories within the main directory with the names implying what they represent. So, you create a sales, inventory, news and other directories in the /www directory Then you add all sales web pages in the /www/sales directory, and the other web pages to the directories where they belong.
After organizing the web pages within sub-directories, someone in the sales department will be able to type the URL addrerss sales.company.com, and will be transferred the the sales sub-directory of the main website. Notice, that you don’t have to use the www in the beginning of he address.
Another important benefits of the sub-domains is the ability to create many websites within one web hosting account. After creating sub-domains, you buy separate domains and point them to a specific sub-directory.
For example, the sub-domain sales.company.com can have a totally independent domain from company.com. You can purchase a domain, like www.companysales.com pointing to the same sub-directory.
In summary, if you aren’t using sub-domains, you will not be able to expand your website easily beyond 30 pages. also, you will not be able to take advantage of the web server storage you get with your web-hosting account. Today, you can easily get a 500 MB. storage. If you have few pages only, you might be using 5-20 MB and leaving over 450 unused.

Rights and terms are usually stated at the beginning of ebooks or included in a file somewhere in the software package. All you have to do is look for it because claiming ‘I didn’t know’ can get you in trouble.
Normally the files may be called license, readme, about, resale-rights or something similar. There are many different rights assigned to products available in this member area. To clear up confusion about the differences between the rights, here’s an explanaition of each term.
Personal Use
When you buy a product, (ebook or software) or anything else online, you do not always get the rights to resell it. You are NOT allowed to resell it or even give it away to your friends if it says, “For Personal Use Ony.” You have the right to USE the product and create a back up copy for it. That’s it. Nothing more.
Giveaway Rights (GA)
When a product comes with Give Away Rights, that means you get a copy of the product and that you can also give it away to anyone for FREE.
Branding Rights (BR)
You either pay the product owner to create a customized version of the product for you or the product comes with a brander program. Rebranding can include changing affiliate links, co-branding or other types of customization.
Resell Rights (RR)
When a product comes with Resell Rights, you are allowed to sell the product to others. This also means that you get to keep all the money for the sale of the product. Many come with pre-written sales pages, images and sometimes even delivery pages.
You can not pass your resell license on to others (only Master Resale Rights can do that…see below). This means anyone who buys the product from you can not sell it to others without buying the resell rights from the owner.
Sometimes products will come with additional limitations such as a minimum price you can sell the product for, bundling restrictions adding the product to membership sites (paid or free) and selling on auctions sites.
If it says [No] to selling on auctions sites, DON’T DO IT! You could lose your Ebay account and many aggressive reseller do monitor Ebay so don’t take the chance.Master Resell Rights (MRR)
If the products comes with Master Resell Rights, this means that you can resell it, bundle it or include it in your own membership site such as this one. It also means that you can pass on the rights to others to resell it for themselves. Said another way, it means that when you sell that product to someone, they can turn around and sell it to someone else and tell their buyers that they can do the same and so on. Master resell rights vary a little depending on the product creator but again, you do want to pay attention to whether or not it can be sold on auction sites. If in doubt, don’t do it.
Non Transferable Master Resell Rights
Generally, these have the same rules as the master resell rights listed above except with one big exception. You you cannot sell the master resell rights to anyone else including buyers or members of a membership site such as this. You can only sell the basic resell rights and the product itself.
Private Label Rights (PLR)
Private label products include the source files which are often in word or text format for information products and programmer files with software. This means you can use it to create a new product from the source files and put your own name on it as if you created it yourself. You can edit the content, add to it, remove certain parts, create new images, redo the sales page and repackage the entire product. You could even use the content to create a online e-course, or break it up into mini reports and you can also add pages, insert advertisement and your own affiliate links.
Non Transferable Private Label Rights
Generally, these have the same rules as the private label rights listed above except you cannot sell the private label rights, only the product itself or use the content to create new products. Most PLR are non-transferable unless state as “unrestricted.”
Unknown or Not Specified
Some of the products listed on this site are not necessarily specified with most of these found in the FREE members downloads.
While we do have the rights to resell or giveaway every product on this site - this does not mean those rights are passed on to you automatically. You must be sure to read the license terms included in each package/zip file to find out what YOUR rights are in relation to the product. Not Specified simply means we have not opened the package to see what YOUR rights are.
Restrictions by the owner/creator
When you buy a product with Resell Rights OR Master Resell Rights, you should check on any special restrictions the owner has imposed on your rights. For example, you may have bought the Master Resell Rights for a product, BUT this does not mean you can:
*Give the product away.
*Include this product in your affiliate program.
*Include the product in a package and resell the whole package.
*Include a product in a membership site.
*Sell it on auction sites such as eBay.
If you are NOT sure about your rights, DO NOT EVER decide for yourself. Contact the owner (not us but the actual product owner found on a Google search) and ask what your rights are. If you want to add the product in a package or membership site or sell on Ebay and those rights are not specified in the package terms, ask her/him to allow you to do so. NEVER resell a product without knowing the license terms.
If you are looking for ways to make money online or to expand your existing home business, selling ebooks could be just what you need. Selling ebooks is easy, affordable and there are practically no expenses (other than purchasing the ebooks). You might want to write some of the ebooks yourself to save money and to help spread the word about you and your business!
You can either purchase ebooks with or without resell rights. I would recommend buying ebooks with resell rights so your customers have an additional reason to purchase from you. They can then sell the ebooks themselves!
There are several ways you can set up your new ebook selling site or ebook store.
Sell on Ebay
You can auction off your ebooks on eBay. eBay has very specific policies on selling ebooks so be SURE to read and follow all their policies.
Offer Ebooks on Your Site
If you already have a site, you can easily offer the ebooks on your existing site. Make a folder called ebooks (or whatever you like) and upload it to your host. Upload all your ebooks into this folder. Give them keyed names so people will not be able to guess the file name.
For example: if you have an ebook called Ezine Publishing and you call the file ezinepublishing.zip, this could make it very easy for someone to “guess” the download link by the name and download the ebook for free.
You want to code the names- for example:
instead of ezine publishing, you might name the file ez-pub-32c.zip These coded names are nearly impossible for people to guess so they are unable to steal the ebook.
Then add an index page where you would introduce your ebook store to your visitors. Let them know there will be no shipping cost as they are delivered electronically. Make sure you introduce your ebook store on your site homepage as well.
You might also want to list the categories on the index page so your customers can click directly to the ebooks they are interested in. Have a short description of the ebook and a graphic (if possible). You can have a whole page for each ebook or you can put several on a page.
Go to Paypal and make up a button to put on your site for ordering. If you do not like Paypal, use any payment service you want.
**TIP - To avoid the time of making up each individual button, use the code from the first button and just change the necessary info like price, item name and code. This will save you a lot of time in setting up your ebook store.
Automatic Digital Delivery
You can purchase a program for setting up your store and having all purchases automatically delivered. This saves you a lot of time plus gives your customers the items immediately which helps with repeat sales.
One such program that does this very well is called The Digital Store. Do a search for this or automatic digital delivery ebooks and you will find a wide variety of scripts/programs to suit your needs.
Be sure to continually add new ebooks for your existing customers. We have had numerous repeat sales by doing this. Also, you might want to have a mailing list to keep people up to date of your new additions and any specials or sales you may be having.
Affiliate Programs
You can also sell other people’s ebooks by joining their affiliate program. This means that for every ebook you sell, you will get a commission from the ebook owner. If you write your own ebook, you could also start your own affiliate program. To find such programs just do a search for ebook affiliate programs.
If you do purchase and/or write your own ebooks for resale, be sure and choose/write the ebooks with a lot of useful, helpful information and resources. There are a lot of ebooks that are simply full of ads and sales letters for the writer’s products. You want to steer clear of these types of ebooks.
People love to buy and read good ebooks and if you offer a good selection and price, they will continue to buy from you.
